Tata Electronics has signed a landmark agreement with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) to establish a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing plant in Dholera, Gujarat. PSMC will provide vital technology and expertise for the facility, which is a key part of India’s efforts to boost domestic semiconductor production.
The project, requiring an investment of ₹91,000 crore, is expected to create over 20,000 jobs. The plant will produce 50,000 wafers per month, supporting industries such as artificial intelligence, automotive, and wireless communication.
In addition to PSMC, Tata Electronics has partnered with two Taiwanese design firms to ensure global standards in safety, quality, and sustainability for the Fab. This initiative marks a significant step in reducing India’s reliance on semiconductor imports and strengthening its role in the global tech supply chain.
This collaboration is a crucial milestone in India’s vision to enhance semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, driving future technological innovation
