Pehle Jaisa Secures $300K Pre-Series A to Scale Rural Waste-to-Fertilizer Innovation

Gurugram-based agritech startup Pehle Jaisa has raised $300,000 in a pre-Series A round led by Pantnagar Capital and Climate Angels, marking a significant step toward scaling its hyperlocal waste-to-fertilizer model across rural India.

Founded in 2022, Pehle Jaisa is building a decentralized network of village-level waste processing centers that convert agricultural and organic waste into bio-stimulants, soil conditioners, and organic fertilizers. Unlike conventional models, Pehle Jaisa’s approach eliminates transportation inefficiencies by processing waste within the same village where it is generated, reducing costs and emissions while delivering affordable, eco-friendly inputs directly to farmers.

The startup had earlier raised $169,000 in seed funding. With the latest capital infusion, it plans to expand its footprint across Indian villages, empowering self-reliant rural economies that generate their own fertilizer, gas, and electricity through local waste streams.

In just its first year of operations, Pehle Jaisa sold over 500 metric tonnes of fertilizer in FY24. In FY25, sales surged to 1,500+ MT, generating revenues of Rs 2.5 crore. Looking ahead, the startup has ambitious plans to cross Rs 100 crore in revenue, fueled by its mission of sustainable agriculture and circular economy practices.
