Unilever Elevates Fernando Fernandez to Chief Executive Officer

Unilever has elevated Fernando Fernandez to the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Hein Schumacher. With an extensive career at Unilever, Fernandez previously served as Chief Financial Officer and led the Beauty & Wellbeing Business Group, spearheading strategic initiatives and market expansion. His leadership experience spans key regions, including the Philippines, Brazil, and Latin America.

In January 2025, his responsibilities expanded to include Supply Chain & Procurement, Digital & Technology, and Business Services, solidifying his expertise in global operations. Now based in London, he will focus on enhancing Unilever’s global market presence, driving brand growth, and fostering innovation.

Additionally, Unilever has named Srinivas Phatak as Acting CFO following Fernandez’s transition. The leadership change aligns with Unilever’s commitment to long-term innovation and operational excellence. As Hein Schumacher prepares to step down in May, Fernandez is set to lead Unilever into its next phase of sustainable growth and industry leadership.
