Deshnee Naidoo has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of Vedanta Group Resources Ltd (VRL), marking a transformative milestone for the company. With over two decades of experience in the global resources industry, she returns to Vedanta at a crucial juncture as the company undergoes a major corporate restructuring. Previously, she led Vedanta Zinc International and Africa Base Metals from 2014 to 2020 before serving as CEO at Vale Base Metals, where she oversaw nickel and copper operations.
With a strong background in strategic growth, metals, and energy, Naidoo is well-positioned to steer Vedanta towards its ambitious $100-billion vision in critical minerals, energy, and technology. As VRL restructures into six independent businesses—including Vedanta Aluminium, Vedanta Oil & Gas, and Vedanta Steel—she will focus on driving operational excellence, accelerating green energy initiatives, and strengthening digital transformation.
Her leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping Vedanta’s future, reinforcing its position as a global leader in natural resources and sustainability.
