GE Aerospace has announced a ₹250 crore investment to expand its Pune manufacturing facility, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the global aerospace supply chain. This expansion will enhance production capabilities for commercial aircraft engines, solidifying India’s strategic role in GE’s global operations.
The Pune facility, a key multi-modal manufacturing hub, produces critical components for LEAP, GE90, GEnx, and 9X engines. With this new investment, GE Aerospace aims to scale up operations to meet rising global demand while integrating local expertise and advanced manufacturing technologies.
India remains vital to GE Aerospace’s ecosystem, with 13 Indian suppliers contributing to its global production network. Key partners include Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
Beyond commercial aviation, GE Aerospace has deepened its defense collaborations, supplying F404, F414, and T700 engines to the Indian Air Force and Navy. With the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, GE is driving localization and self-reliance in aerospace manufacturing.
With a highly skilled workforce and growing adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, India is poised to become a global manufacturing powerhouse. GE’s Pune expansion marks a significant step toward this vision, supporting economic growth and technological innovation
