Ambuj Chandna has been appointed as Managing Director and Head of Consumer Banking Group at DBS Bank India, marking a significant leadership change in the bank’s India operations. With decades of experience in retail lending, liabilities, and digital banking, Chandna has held key positions at Kotak Mahindra Bank, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, ING Vysya Bank, and Citibank. In his previous role as President and Head of Consumer Bank (Products) at Kotak Mahindra Bank, he played a crucial role in driving retail banking and consumer asset growth.
His appointment follows the leadership transition under DBS Bank India’s new CEO, Rajat Verma. Chandna replaces Prashant Joshi, who was instrumental in integrating Lakshmi Vilas Bank after its acquisition. As part of Singapore’s largest bank, DBS Bank India is strengthening its consumer banking segment, and Chandna’s leadership is expected to accelerate growth and customer engagement. While an official statement is awaited, he has confirmed his new role on LinkedIn.
