Raman Krishnamoorthy Venkat has been appointed as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of New India Assurance, following approval from the company’s board. With over three decades of experience in the general insurance sector, he brings extensive expertise in risk management, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Currently serving as General Manager at New India Assurance, Venkat replaces C S Ayyappan in this critical leadership role. His tenure at New India spans nearly four decades, where he has held key positions, including Deputy General Manager, Chief Manager, Head of Finance & Reinsurance, and Deputy Chief Executive in London.
A Science graduate from Madras University and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, Venkat is well-equipped to strengthen New India Assurance’s risk management framework, ensuring financial stability and long-term growth.
