India Advances Futuristic Travel with Hyperloop Test Track Developed by IIT Madras

India has made a significant leap in next-generation transportation with the completion of a 422-meter-long hyperloop test track, developed by IIT Madras with support from the Ministry of Railways. This groundbreaking innovation has the potential to revolutionize high-speed travel, significantly reducing commute times across the country.

With hyperloop technology, a 350 km journey could be completed in just 30 minutes. Once implemented, routes like Delhi to Jaipur (approximately 300 km) could be covered in under half an hour, redefining long-distance travel efficiency.

The Ministry of Railways has already invested $2 million into the project, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced an additional $1 million grant to further accelerate development. This pioneering infrastructure, located at the IIT Madras campus, underscores India’s commitment to transforming public transportation with cutting-edge innovation.

As the hyperloop project progresses, it promises to set new benchmarks in sustainable, high-speed travel, positioning India among the global leaders in transportation technology
