Infinix is redefining smartphone innovation with its latest solar-powered charging concepts, unveiled at MWC 2025. The brand introduced a smartphone with an integrated solar panel and a solar charging case, both designed to harness sunlight for extended battery life.
At the heart of this innovation is SolarEnergy-Reserving Technology, leveraging perovskite solar cells, which are thinner, more efficient, and cost-effective compared to traditional silicon cells. The technology also integrates Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to optimize voltage and manage heat, ensuring safe charging under direct sunlight. Currently, it supports up to 2W charging, providing a sustainable power boost when needed.
The solar charging case connects via small side contacts on the prototype phone, offering users flexibility for power outages or outdoor use, while still allowing the option to switch to a standard case.
In addition to this, Infinix showcased its second-generation color-changing E Ink phone, now powered by an internal battery and AI-driven to adjust colors based on photos, weather, or user preferences.
