In a strategic move to deepen its AI capabilities, F5 has acquired Fletch, a San Francisco-based startup known for pioneering agentic AI in the cybersecurity domain. The acquisition will enhance F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) and its AI Data Fabric strategy, aligning with its broader vision to embed intelligence across the security stack.
Fletch’s core technology leverages agent-based AI to sift through thousands of open-source threat intelligence feeds, using natural language processing and semantic analysis to detect, prioritize, and recommend responses to critical vulnerabilities in real time. These insights are mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework, enabling customers to gain context-rich, actionable threat data.
The integration brings most of Fletch’s 15-member team into F5, signaling a convergence of vision, innovation, and engineering talent. Chris Ford, VP of F5’s AI Center of Excellence, highlighted that the addition of Fletch will accelerate F5’s capabilities in proactive threat detection, dynamic visualization, and conversational security analytics.
This acquisition marks a pivotal milestone in F5’s ongoing journey to reimagine security operations. By incorporating agentic AI, F5 is positioning itself to deliver more intelligent, adaptive, and efficient security outcomes in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
