Visionary Leader Shalaka Verma Appointed as Head of Customer Engineering at Google India

Shalaka Verma, has been appointed as the Head of Customer Engineering at Google India. In her new role, she will lead strategic cloud initiatives and customer engagement for Google Cloud, with a focus on scalable innovation and industry-specific solutions.

Verma brings a rich legacy of leadership from her previous roles at Microsoft and IBM. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Cloud Solution Architecture at Microsoft, where she led a team of global cloud architects and spearheaded Azure Quantum adoption within the partner ecosystem. Prior to that, she held key leadership roles at IBM, driving transformation across AI, hybrid cloud, and infrastructure solutions.

Her career spans significant achievements including multiple U.S. patents, enterprise-wide technology rollouts, and global recognition such as the IBM Outstanding Sales Achievement Award and Mobileum’s Most Valuable Performer.

Verma is also an advisory board member at the AI and Data Science Forum and a board member at the SRM Qkrishi Centre of Excellence in Quantum Computing.

With a track record of delivering impactful outcomes in tech sales and innovation, her appointment marks a strategic move by Google to further strengthen its engineering leadership in India.
