Uber Appoints Nikesh Arora to Board of Directors as Part of Strategic Leadership Realignment

Uber Technologies has announced the appointment of Nikesh Arora, CEO of Palo Alto Networks, to its Board of Directors, as disclosed in a recent SEC filing. Arora will also serve on the company’s Nominating and Governance Committee and Compensation Committee, adding significant global technology and governance expertise to Uber’s boardroom.

“His leadership in scaling innovative businesses and navigating complex international markets will be invaluable,” said Board Chair Ron Sugar. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi described Arora as “a strategic and disciplined operator, and a fierce competitor.” Arora previously held senior roles at Google and SoftBank, and has served on boards including Colgate-Palmolive, Richemont, Sprint, and Bharti Airtel.

The appointment comes amid a broader leadership realignment. Uber has reinstated the Chief Operating Officer role, naming Andrew Macdonald to lead mobility, delivery, and autonomous units. Pradeep Parameswaran has been promoted to Global Head of Mobility, following the departure of longtime executive Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty.
