Vertiv, in collaboration with NVIDIA and AI pioneer iGenius, is set to redefine Europe’s AI landscape with the launch of Colosseum—one of the world’s largest NVIDIA DGX AI supercomputers, powered by the cutting-edge NVIDIA Grace Blackwell Superchips. Slated for deployment in Italy in 2025, Colosseum will serve as a sovereign AI data center tailored for regulated industries like finance, healthcare, and public administration.
Colosseum combines Vertiv’s modular infrastructure and 360AI reference architecture with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing power and digital twin capabilities via NVIDIA Omniverse. This integrated ecosystem enables real-time simulation, predictive modeling, and operational orchestration before a single component is installed—cutting deployment timelines in half.
Designed to support up to 132kW per rack with future-ready scalability, the facility showcases a blend of performance, energy efficiency, and data sovereignty. It also sets a precedent for AI factory design globally, serving as a repeatable template for future deployments.
With Vertiv’s AI-ready data center stack and NVIDIA’s Mission Control, Colosseum brings together compute, power, and cooling into a seamless, software-unified environment—ushering in a new era of intelligent, modular AI infrastructure.
This isn’t just a supercomputer, it’s the future blueprint of sovereign AI at hyperscale.
