The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has appointed Ajay Bhushan Pandey as Vice President – Investment Solutions, where he will oversee key functions including Sectoral Strategies, Financial Innovation, Sustainability, and Portfolio Oversight. With a distinguished track record in public administration, Pandey brings decades of experience in economic reform, policy implementation, and digital transformation.
He has previously served as Finance Secretary of India, Chairperson of the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), and Chairman of the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), where he played a crucial role in implementing taxation reforms and economic recovery initiatives during the pandemic.
Pandey also served as CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), significantly expanding the Aadhaar infrastructure to enhance social benefit delivery, financial inclusion, and digital payment ecosystems.
At AIIB’s headquarters in Beijing, his appointment is expected to accelerate innovation-led, sustainable infrastructure development across Asia, leveraging his expertise in governance, reform execution, and technology-driven policy.
