In a pioneering move, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has launched an ambitious initiative to empower its officers and employees with Artificial Intelligence (AI) training, aiming to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed in administrative operations. This initiative is the first of its kind among municipal corporations in India.
Under this forward-looking program, 300 officers and employees received specialized AI training in the first phase, with more staff set to follow. The training is designed to familiarize municipal personnel with the latest technologies and modern work procedures. This will enable them to handle daily administrative tasks with greater speed, accuracy, and ease.
Post-training, AI tools are being actively implemented to streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and improve service delivery to citizens. The training sessions were conducted at the Smart City office under the supervision of project officer Faiz Ali, with trainers Salman Shaikh, Sohel, and Ganesh Kharde leading the program.
Commissioner and administrator G. Srikanth emphasized that the ultimate goal is to transform Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar into a smart, tech-enabled, and citizen-centric city using cutting-edge technologies like AI.
