Biswaroop Mukherjee Joins Reliance Industries’ Battery Business as Chief Human Resource Officer

Biswaroop Mukherjee has taken on a pivotal leadership role as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) at the Battery Business of Reliance Industries, effective July. This appointment comes as Reliance accelerates its ambitious push into the New Energy sector with a USD 10 billion investment aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2035.

Mukherjee brings over 20 years of global HR leadership experience, having previously served as Vice President – People and Transformation at Aker Solutions. His expertise spans organizational design, change management, talent strategy, rewards, executive coaching, and leading high-performance teams across diverse geographies, including Asia, the Middle East, ASEAN, Russia, Europe, and Africa.

Before Aker Solutions, he held senior HR roles at Tata Motors, where he led HR for the Commercial Vehicle Business, overseeing operations across India and international subsidiaries.

A certified executive coach and Hogan Assessor, Mukherjee’s transformational leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Reliance’s Battery Business and broader sustainability goals.
