Diageo India has announced the appointment of Praveen Someshwar as its new Managing Director & CEO, effective immediately. A seasoned leader with over three decades of experience, Someshwar brings extensive expertise in business transformation, strategy, and execution across the FMCG and media sectors.
Prior to joining Diageo India, Someshwar served as MD & CEO of HT Media, where he led the company’s shift to a digital-first, tech-driven model. His 24-year tenure at PepsiCo saw him in key leadership roles, including CEO of India Foods, CEO of South Asia Beverages, and SVP & GM for North Asia, Philippines, and Indonesia. His leadership played a crucial role in market expansion, brand innovation, and operational efficiency.
Diageo India also acknowledged the contributions of Hina Nagarajan, who has led the company’s premiumization and innovation strategy over the past four years. She now moves to the role of President, Diageo Africa.
With Someshwar at the helm, Diageo India is poised for its next phase of growth and transformation.
