India’s startup ecosystem continues to thrive, with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recognizing 1,57,066 startups as of December 25. Among these, over 73,000 startups boast at least one woman director, showcasing significant strides in gender diversity.
\r\n\r\nIndia has emerged as the world’s third-largest startup hub, supported by initiatives like the ‘Startup India’ program launched in 2016. The ecosystem includes over 100 unicorns and has raised more than ₹29,200 crore through 13 startup IPOs in 2024, underscoring its robust growth.
\r\n\r\nCities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR have become hotspots for innovation. Startups are leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI, blockchain, and IoT to solve local and global challenges. Government initiatives like the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI), and SAMRIDH scheme are pro
