Sunanda Khaitan Appointed as Chief Marketing Officer - Beauty & Wellbeing at Hindustan Unilever Limited Leadership

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has appointed Sunanda Khaitan as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Beauty & Wellbeing, marking a strategic leadership appointment as the company strengthens its marketing leadership and brand growth agenda across personal care and beauty categories. In her new role, Sunanda will lead the marketing strategy for HUL’s Beauty & Wellbeing portfolio in India, focusing on driving brand performance, consumer engagement, and innovation across mass and premium segments. Her mandate includes shaping holistic marketing execution, deepening consumer insights, and strengthening competitive positioning to support sustained growth in a dynamic and evolving FMCG market. Sunanda brings nearly 19 years of experience with Unilever, where she has held a range of senior leadership and brand management roles across India and global markets. Most recently, she served as Vice President and Business Head of Lakmē, leading brand strategy, business operations, and growth initiatives for the iconic beauty brand. Prior to that, she held global leadership positions including Global Brand Director for Haircare, Fair & Lovely, and Citra, and earlier responsibilities included regional brand leadership for Pond’s in South Asia. She began her career in sales and customer excellence at Unilever and also worked at Dabur India Limited early in her professional journey. In her new role, Sunanda will be based in Mumbai, driving impactful marketing leadership as HUL scales its Beauty & Wellbeing business.
