OpenAI is reportedly seeking to raise at least $30 billion in a new funding round at a targeted valuation of around $1.4 trillion, according to Bloomberg News and Reuters. The proposed valuation excludes the new capital, while discussions remain at an early stage and terms could change.
The proposed financing is expected to serve as a bridge round as OpenAI delays its planned IPO. The company last raised $122 billion in March at a valuation of $852 billion, according to Reuters.
The fundraising comes as OpenAI continues expanding its AI infrastructure, products and enterprise business. Reuters reports that its annualized revenue run rate is approaching $70 billion, while the company continues competing in the growing AI agents market.
CEO Sam Altman has said OpenAI will not go public in 2026, citing AI safety considerations.
