Users can add their eligible cards to Apple Wallet and make secure contactless payments using an iPhone or Apple Watch at participating merchant locations.
Apple Pay does not currently support UPI payments in India, while support for additional banks is expected to expand over time. The service is available across millions of merchant locations, with brands such as Zomato, Blinkit, Croma and Tata 1mg supporting Apple Pay transactions.
The launch also brings Apple’s device-based payment security and authentication capabilities to Indian consumers, offering another option for digital and contactless payments.
