Orange Retail Finance Raises ₹100 Crore Through NCDs and Signs ₹100 Crore Co-Lending Pact with Shriram Finance Finance

Chennai-headquartered Orange Retail Finance India Private Limited has strengthened its FY27 funding and lending strategy through a ₹100 crore listed Non-Convertible Debenture (NCD) issuance arranged by UMI Capital and a ₹100 crore co-lending partnership with Shriram Finance Limited.

The NCD issuance forms part of the company’s ₹200 crore listed NCD programme for FY27, which carries an [ICRA]BBB- (Stable) credit rating. Led by Managing Director and CEO Ebenezer Daniel G, the company is targeting ₹300 crore in debt fundraising and plans to raise an additional ₹100 crore in equity to strengthen its capital base and expand its branch network to 150 locations.

Under the co-lending agreement, Orange Retail Finance will originate gold loans across Tamil Nadu, retaining 20% of each loan on its books while Shriram Finance funds the remaining 80%. The arrangement is designed to expand its secured lending portfolio while sharing funding requirements between the two lenders.

The Bigger Picture

The development reflects the growing use of co-lending partnerships and diversified debt funding among non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) seeking to expand secured retail lending while managing capital requirements and balance-sheet exposure.

CXO TechBOT Perspective

Orange Retail Finance’s twin funding initiatives highlight how NBFCs are combining capital-market access with strategic lending partnerships to support growth. Its shift toward gold loans and loans against property, alongside an expanding branch network, signals a broader effort to diversify its lending portfolio and scale operations.
