Manufacturing
Kaynes Semicon has commenced commercial production at its OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) plant in Sanand, marking a major milestone under the India Semiconductor Mission. The facility was inaugurated by Narendra Modi on March 31, becoming the second semiconductor unit in India to begin commercial operations under the initiative.
Built with an investment of approximately ₹3,300 crore, the plant aims to achieve a production capacity of 6.33 million units per day upon full-scale completion. It will manufacture modules comprising 17 chips for Alpha and Omega Semiconductor, focusing on automotive and industrial applications.
Kaynes has also partnered with IndiesemiC to boost domestic capabilities, alongside collaborations with SiMa.ai and Emerson.
This development reinforces India’s growing strength in semiconductor packaging, integration, and scalable manufacturing.
