Manufacturing
Global consumer healthcare leader Haleon has announced an investment of approximately ₹2,000 crore (£200 million) to establish its first manufacturing facility in India, reinforcing its long-term commitment to one of the world’s fastest-growing healthcare markets.
The new facility will be developed on a 40-acre site in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, and is expected to become operational by 2029-30. The plant will primarily manufacture oral healthcare products, including the globally trusted Sensodyne brand, while supporting both domestic demand and export markets across Asia.
The investment is projected to create up to 500 direct jobs, contributing significantly to regional economic development, employment generation, and manufacturing growth. It also aligns with India’s vision of strengthening its position as a global manufacturing hub.
Commenting on the expansion, Brian McNamara, CEO of Haleon, emphasized that India remains a key strategic market and a major driver of the company’s future growth. The investment highlights Haleon’s confidence in India’s market potential, skilled workforce, and growing role in global healthcare supply chains.
