bioMérieux has inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in India at Genome Valley, marking a significant milestone in the country’s life sciences and diagnostics ecosystem. The move further strengthens Telangana’s position as a leading hub for biotechnology and healthcare innovation.

The France-based global diagnostics leader, which operates in over 160 countries, has invested approximately ₹50 crore in this facility. The unit will focus on producing advanced in-vitro diagnostic kits, including solutions designed to detect drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB), a major public health concern in India.

This development aligns with India’s national goal of eliminating TB, offering faster and more reliable diagnostic capabilities to healthcare providers. The facility has already created around 100 jobs, contributing to local economic growth and skill development.

Looking ahead, bioMérieux also plans to establish a dedicated research and development lab, reinforcing its long-term commitment to innovation and healthcare advancement in India.
