Rolls-Royce plans to expand India operations across defence, aerospace and energy Aviation

During the company’s three-day visit, CEO Tufan Erginbilgic met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Rolls-Royce’s long-term growth plans and potential contributions to India’s strategic priorities.

A key area of focus is the proposed partnership between Rolls-Royce and Reliance Industries to develop an indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The company is also considering plans for an Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India, which could support its broader engineering and manufacturing ambitions.

Beyond defence aviation, Rolls-Royce is exploring opportunities in civil aviation, power systems and other aerospace applications. The company’s existing engineering and manufacturing footprint provides a foundation for further collaboration with Indian industry.

These initiatives reflect India’s growing importance in Rolls-Royce’s global strategy and its ambition to deepen industrial partnerships in the country.
