State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Visionary Leader Vivek A. as Deputy Vice President - Cyber Security, reinforcing the bank’s strategic focus on safeguarding its digital banking ecosystem amid increasing cyber risk and technological complexity.


In his new role, Vivek A. will be responsible for supporting and strengthening SBI’s cybersecurity posture across critical systems and digital platforms. His scope of work includes contributing to cyber risk management initiatives, strengthening security governance frameworks, and supporting enterprise-level efforts to enhance resilience against evolving cyber threats. He will also work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between security controls, regulatory requirements, and business continuity priorities.


The appointment comes at a time when large financial institutions are accelerating digital adoption while simultaneously facing heightened threat landscapes, making cybersecurity a board-level priority.
