Vertiv has entered into an agreement to acquire King Environmental Services Ltd. (KES), a Europe-based provider of fluid management, commissioning and load-testing services for high-density, liquid-cooled data centres. The acquisition is expected to expand Vertiv’s thermal management services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
KES will add capabilities spanning fluid-system preparation, flushing, filtration, water treatment, commissioning, performance validation and thermal and electrical load testing. Headquartered near Dublin, Ireland, KES serves customers across EMEA from operations in North Dublin and Frankfurt.
The transaction builds on Vertiv’s 2025 acquisition of PurgeRite and is intended to strengthen its ability to support complex AI and high-density infrastructure across the thermal management lifecycle. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The Bigger Picture
Rising AI and high-performance computing workloads are increasing rack densities and accelerating the adoption of liquid cooling, making specialised commissioning, fluid management and testing increasingly important for data-centre reliability.
The acquisition highlights how AI infrastructure expansion is broadening demand beyond computing hardware to specialised thermal management, lifecycle services and operational validation capabilities.
