VTU Partners with QNu Labs to Launch Quantum Communication Lab in Bengaluru Quantum

In a major step toward advancing India’s quantum technology ecosystem, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has partnered with QNu Labs, a Bengaluru-based quantum cryptography startup, to establish a state-of-the-art Quantum Communication Lab at its Research and Industry Incubation Centre in Bengaluru. The initiative, announced at India Mobile Congress 2025, aims to provide students and faculty with hands-on training in quantum technologies, aligning academic learning with India’s National Quantum Mission.

Sunil Gupta, CEO of QNu Labs, stated, “This isn’t just about setting up a lab; it’s about creating a sustainable ecosystem where students and faculty can engage directly with quantum systems and understand what this technology means for India’s future.” The collaboration is set to benefit over four lakh students across VTU’s 200 affiliated colleges, enabling research, training, and curriculum development in emerging technologies.

Commander Dr. Devendra Singh, Director of R&D at VTU, emphasized the project’s strategic importance in strengthening India’s defence and digital security capabilities, contributing to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Ajith Padyana, Director of VTU-VRIF, added that this initiative will prepare students for the rapidly evolving deep tech landscape.
