Sachin Katti Takes Charge as Head of Compute Infrastructure at OpenAI Leadership

OpenAI has appointed Sachin Katti as its new Head of Compute Infrastructure, marking a key leadership addition as the company scales its global AI capabilities. Katti brings a distinguished background in large-scale computing, AI infrastructure, and research leadership, making him a pivotal force in shaping the future of artificial general intelligence (AGI) development.

Prior to joining OpenAI, Sachin served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology & AI Officer at Intel Corporation, where he led the Network and Edge Group and helped define Intel’s global AI and compute strategy. Earlier, as a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University, he spearheaded pioneering research in networking, distributed systems, and wireless architectures.

A Ph.D. graduate from MIT and B.Tech alumnus of IIT Bombay, Sachin is also a co-founder of Kumu Networks and Uhana, both at the forefront of wireless and AI-driven technologies.
