OpenAI has appointed Shruti Nishchal as Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective October 2026. Based in Singapore, she brings extensive experience in human resources, people strategy, organisational development and talent management across global technology and media companies.
Before joining OpenAI, Shruti spent over six years at Netflix, where she held several HR leadership positions. Most recently, she served as Director, HRBP for Ads, Marketing & Partnerships in APAC from January to October 2026. Earlier, she was Senior Manager, HRBP for Product, Legal & Finance, supporting business functions across the region.
Her tenure at Netflix began in June 2020 as a Human Resources Business Partner in Mumbai, where she worked for over three years before moving to Singapore.
Prior to Netflix, Shruti spent five and a half years at Qualcomm, including serving as Diversity & Inclusion Lead in India.
Her appointment comes as OpenAI continues to expand its global workforce and strengthen its people operations across international markets.
