Edelweiss Life Insurance has elevated visionary leader Sougata Pandey as Chief Risk Officer, effective October 2026, strengthening its leadership in enterprise risk management, fraud prevention and data governance.
Sougata has been associated with Edelweiss Life Insurance for nearly seven years, progressing through multiple leadership positions across risk management and operations. Before his appointment, he served as Chief Risk Officer (Designate) from September 2026. Earlier, he held the position of Senior Vice President and led Fraud Risk Management & Data Governance.
His previous roles at the company include Vice President, Deputy Vice President, and Assistant Vice President & Head of the Fraud Control Unit. This progression reflects his extensive experience in fraud risk management, operational controls and business process improvement.
Sougata brings cross-functional expertise spanning strategic planning, portfolio management, claims assessment, customer service, collections and business continuity planning. His professional focus includes strengthening risk frameworks and leveraging AI-driven detection to identify emerging threats and protect the integrity of the life insurance sector.
