OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Atlas, a next-generation AI-powered web browser that integrates ChatGPT directly into users’ browsing experience, a move the company describes as “a step toward creating a super-assistant.” Available now on macOS for Free, Plus, Pro, and Go users, with beta access for Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts, Atlas allows users to access ChatGPT’s intelligence without switching tabs or copying content.
“With Atlas, ChatGPT can come with you anywhere across the web, helping you in the window right where you are, understanding what you’re trying to do, and completing tasks for you,” OpenAI stated. The browser features memory integration, optional browser memories, and an innovative agent mode that enables ChatGPT to research, analyse data, and even book appointments in real time.
Early users have praised its contextual intelligence, with beta tester Yogya Kalra noting how Atlas helps refine knowledge instantly during browsing. Entering a competitive market alongside Perplexity’s Comet, Microsoft Copilot, Google Chrome’s Gemini, Brave’s Leo, and Opera’s Neon, ChatGPT Atlas aims to redefine how people interact with the web, making AI assistance seamless, adaptive, and deeply integrated into everyday browsing.
