Roma Balwani has been appointed as an Independent Director at Vedanta Power, marking a significant addition to the company’s leadership and governance framework.

A seasoned boardroom professional, sustainability champion, and corporate communications leader, Roma brings more than three decades of expertise across ESG, stakeholder management, corporate reputation, sustainability strategy, and regulatory engagement. 

Roma currently serves as an Independent Director at Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd (GPIL) and previously completed a distinguished decade-long tenure as an Independent Director at John Cockerill. Her earlier leadership journey within the Vedanta Group included serving as President – Group Communications, Sustainable Development & CSR, along with being a member of the Group Executive Committee. Prior to Vedanta, she spent nearly nine years as Chief Group Communications Officer at Mahindra Group.
