IndusInd Bank has appointed ARIJIT BASU as its Chairman, reinforcing the bank’s governance framework with a leader of exceptional depth and experience in banking, financial services, and board-level leadership.

With a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, Basu has held several landmark leadership positions across India and international markets. He previously served as Managing Director at State Bank of India, MD & CEO of SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd., and CEO – Japan Operations at State Bank of India, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening international banking operations and insurance-led growth strategies.

Beyond executive leadership, Basu brings extensive experience in board governance and strategic advisory roles. He currently serves as Chairman of HDB Financial Services Ltd. and has held prominent positions including Senior Advisor at Deloitte India and Ares Asia Management, Non-Executive Director at Prudential plc and Peerless Hospitex, Independent Director at CleanMax, and Senior Consultant at AZB & Partners. His wide-ranging exposure across banking, insurance, financial services, and advisory ecosystems adds significant strategic value to IndusInd Bank.
