Google Cloud has appointed Karthik Narain as its new Chief Product and Business Officer, highlighting the company’s deepening focus on artificial intelligence, enterprise transformation, and cloud innovation. The announcement was made by Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian in a LinkedIn post on Monday.

With over 25 years of experience in technology consulting, Narain will oversee Google Cloud’s product and engineering teams across cloud, data, developer, and applied AI divisions, while also leading its go-to-market strategy. He will collaborate with Google Public Sector to accelerate enterprise adoption of AI-powered solutions.

Expressing his excitement, Narain called the role a “transformative opportunity” to combine his expertise in engineering, product strategy, and enterprise systems with Google’s cutting-edge AI technologies.

Prior to joining Google, Narain served as Chief Technology Officer at Accenture and held senior leadership roles at HCLTech. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Systems and Business from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.

His appointment marks a pivotal step in Google Cloud’s mission to help global enterprises transform and scale in the AI-driven digital economy.
