Tata Trusts Reappoints Industry Stalwart Venu Srinivasan as Vice-Chairman for Life Leadership

In a significant move reinforcing leadership stability, Venu Srinivasan has been unanimously reappointed as Vice-Chairman for life by the trustees of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) and the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT). These two prominent charitable entities form the cornerstone of the Tata Group’s philanthropic initiatives, collectively holding a 52% stake in Tata Sons.

This reappointment follows the earlier life-term appointment of Noel Tata as Chairman of the Trusts in January 2025, signaling a clear focus on continuity and institutional stability at the helm of Tata’s philanthropic arm. Srinivasan, a seasoned industrialist and philanthropist, has been instrumental in driving social impact programs, corporate governance initiatives, and community development efforts across the Trusts’ portfolio.

The decision underscores the Trusts’ commitment to preserving institutional knowledge while maintaining a steady governance framework. Trustees, including Mehli Mistry, are expected to continue strengthening leadership continuity, ensuring Tata Trusts’ enduring focus on sustainable development, welfare initiatives, and legacy stewardship within the broader Tata ecosystem.
