Amira Modi has been appointed as Non-Executive Director at Medicines Discovery Catapult, adding extensive leadership experience across life sciences, private equity, commercial transformation and operations to the organisation’s board. Alongside her new board role, she serves as a Senior Advisor and Operator to multiple private equity firms and portfolio companies, advising on investment strategy, commercial due diligence, growth strategy and value creation. She also serves as an Advisor at PharmStars, supporting pharma and digital health startups.
She previously served as Group Chief Operating Officer at Sygnature Discovery, a private equity-backed preclinical drug discovery CRO, where she was responsible for the North American business and a P&L of approximately $40 million. She also led group operations spanning facilities, site management, legal and IT, while driving transformation and managing a global team of around 400 employees across the UK and Canada. Her experience positions her to contribute to strategic oversight and growth within the medicines discovery ecosystem.
