SBI Life Insurance Limited has announced the appointment of Vishal Bhatia as its Chief Information Technology & Digital Officer (CIDO), based in Mumbai. In this pivotal role, he will lead the insurer’s digital and technology strategy, driving transformation through innovation, AI, and customer-centric platforms.

With over 24 years of deep expertise across the banking and financial services sector, Vishal has led large-scale digital transformation programs spanning retail, MSME, agri, corporate loans, wealth management, trade finance, cards, payments, and merchant solutions. He has held senior leadership roles at Canara Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDFC First Bank, Societe Generale, ABN Amro, and Infosys, shaping strategy, execution, and technology adoption.

At Canara Bank, his digital initiatives helped the bank secure MeitY’s top ranking for three consecutive years, while at Kotak Mahindra Bank, he spearheaded the Kotak Cherry wealth management platform. Known for building scalable platforms serving 10 crore+ customers, Vishal brings proven expertise in fintech, API banking, AI/ML, and cloud transformation.
