Sungrow Unveils Next-Gen Residential Energy Storage System at 2025 Southeast Asia Summit Energy

Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverter and energy storage solutions, launched its next-generation residential energy storage system (ESS) at the 2025 Southeast Asia Distribution Summit. The new solution features the MG Series inverters (5kW–10kW) and the upcoming MGL060 battery, built for Southeast Asia’s energy independence needs.

Key features include seamless backup switching in 4ms, full power at 45°C, and active PID recovery for optimal PV module performance. The MG5/6RL inverters are already market-ready and support over 50 third-party batteries. MG8/10RL inverters and the MGL060 battery, with 314Ah LFP cells and 8000 cycles, launch in Q4 2025.

The system is highly scalable, from 5kW to 80kW with up to eight units in parallel, suitable for small homes to large residences. It supports flexible configurations like Battery Ready and Backup Only modes. Its hybrid inverter offers 200% overload capacity for 10 seconds, ensuring uninterrupted operation of appliances during outages.

Performance is boosted by 200% DC input and 160% max output, supporting simultaneous energy generation and battery charging. With 20A input current support, it’s compatible with most PV modules. The interface includes a 4.3-inch touchscreen, dual LED indicators, and a Storm Mode for rapid charging.

Future upgrades include iHomeManager, an AI-powered energy optimizer improving efficiency by over 12%.
