Schneider Electric has unveiled a multi-year initiative to develop an AI-powered ecosystem focused on advancing sustainability and energy management. The initiative is centered around Agentic AI—a cutting-edge technology designed to collaborate with clients and consultants, anticipate needs, and adapt to complex environments in real time.
To lead this initiative, the company has appointed Julien Picaud as Head of Product Management. Picaud brings deep expertise from roles at Sweep and Enablon, where he led global product marketing for sustainability solutions.
The new AI ecosystem will integrate features from Schneider Electric’s existing platforms and its recent acquisition of EcoAct. Key capabilities will include decarbonization strategy, emissions management, compliance, climate risk analysis, energy efficiency, and automated data visualization.
Steve Wilhite, President of Schneider’s Sustainability Business, described the vision as “collaborative intelligence,” where Agentic AI serves as a digital teammate to human experts—automating complex tasks to accelerate impact.
CTO Dan Whitsell emphasized the initiative’s commitment to frugal AI, ensuring computational efficiency, leaner models, and optimized infrastructure to reduce energy use and emissions.
