IDFC FIRST Bharat Ltd has appointed Anujeet Vishwanath Varadkar as its Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer. With over 20 years of expertise in rural banking, agri-finance, and microfinance, Anujeet brings a wealth of experience in building sustainable financial ecosystems for underserved communities.

An agriculture graduate and management postgraduate from Maharashtra, he began his career with ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Mahindra Group, gaining hands-on exposure to agri-input sales, crop and tractor loans, and channel financing. His career-defining journey was at Svatantra Microfin Pvt. Ltd., where he scaled operations from a team of 10 to over 10,000 employees, achieving an AUM exceeding INR 7,700 crore by 2024.

Prior to joining IDFC FIRST Bharat Ltd, Anujeet held senior roles at Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited, serving as Joint COO and leading strategic transformation initiatives. Renowned for leveraging technology in risk management, compliance, payments, and HR, his leadership is set to accelerate responsible finance, inclusive growth, and customer trust across rural India.
