eScan introduces screen watermarking to protect confidential enterprise data AI

Cybersecurity provider eScan (MicroWorld Technologies Inc.) has expanded its Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution with Screen Watermarking, addressing the growing risk of confidential information being captured through smartphone photographs and screen recordings.

The feature aims to protect sensitive information displayed during everyday business activities, including financial transactions, client meetings, remote work and video conferences.

Users can activate watermarking through the Win+Y keyboard shortcut. The watermark displays the user’s identity, device hostname, timestamp and company name, making confidential screen content traceable if captured or leaked.

The capability works across commonly used business applications, including Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM tools, PDF editors and QuickBooks. It also supports screen-sharing environments such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and Google Meet.

Unlike traditional DLP controls that block unauthorised file transfers, Screen Watermarking focuses on visual attribution and deterrence. It complements eScan’s existing printer watermarking capabilities, extending data protection across physical and digital output channels.
