Zoom Unveils AI Companion 3.0, Bringing Proactive Agentic AI to Workplace Collaboration Enterprise AI

Zoom has launched AI Companion 3.0, its most ambitious AI-driven update yet, designed to transform meetings and workflows from passive assistance into proactive, context-driven action. The release introduces advanced features such as agentic retrieval, expanded note-taking across third-party platforms, and intelligent meeting management.

With support now extending to Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and in-person meetings, with Cisco Webex integration coming soon, AI Companion can refine rough notes into structured action items and summaries. A standout new feature, “free up my time,” analyzes calendars and tasks to suggest which meetings can be skipped, while providing AI-generated notes from hosts to keep users updated.

The upcoming agentic retrieval feature will enable searches across Zoom Workplace, Google, and Microsoft ecosystems, bringing relevant documents and past conversations directly into workflows. Additional enhancements include smart scheduling, agenda tracking, hybrid workspace assistance, and nudges that steer discussions toward actionable decisions.

For enterprises, the new Custom AI Companion and Zoom AI Studio offer flexibility to build tailored AI agents, integrated with internal knowledge bases and third-party apps such as ServiceNow and SharePoint.

Positioned as a steady evolution rather than disruption, AI Companion 3.0 strengthens Zoom’s place in the AI-powered collaboration market by delivering cumulative efficiencies across IT, finance, HR, and facilities management.
