AI
AI assistant startup Wabi has raised $55 million in Series A funding at a valuation of $1.25 billion. The round was led by IVP, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Forerunner, Amazon Alexa Fund and prominent angel investors, including Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.
Founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who previously launched AI companion platform Replika, Wabi is developing a personal AI assistant designed to help people coordinate activities and make decisions together. Its platform integrates AI agents into group conversations, allowing users to plan trips, manage schedules, book appointments and create personalised mini-apps for shared activities.
The funding will support Wabi’s continued product development and expansion as it builds its vision of collaborative, everyday AI assistance.
Why It Matters
Wabi’s funding highlights growing investor interest in AI agents that extend beyond individual chatbot interactions into collaborative, real-world tasks. Its approach positions shared experiences and group coordination as emerging use cases for consumer AI.
CXO TechBOT Perspective
The next phase of AI adoption may be shaped by assistants that do more than respond to prompts. Platforms combining agentic capabilities, personalised tools and collaboration could redefine how people manage everyday activities.
