Before joining W. R. Berkley, Kalyani served as Senior Vice President and Chief Data & AI Officer at Verizon, where she led enterprise-wide AI transformation, expanded AI platforms and strengthened responsible AI practices. She also held the position of Vice President and Chief Data Officer, overseeing data strategy, architecture, engineering and governance.
During her tenure at Verizon, Kalyani also served as Vice President and Managing Director, building and scaling the company’s Global Capability & Technology Center in Chennai. Her experience includes leading large-scale technology initiatives, developing enterprise data platforms and aligning AI investments with measurable business outcomes.
In her new role, Kalyani will focus on advancing AI-driven innovation, strengthening technology capabilities and translating digital investments into business value across the insurance group. Her appointment highlights the growing importance of enterprise AI adoption, data governance and responsible AI frameworks in the insurance sector.
