Vijay Vaidyanathan has been elevated to Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) at HDFC Life Insurance Company, effective April 1, 2026. The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors on March 8, 2026, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
A long-time company leader, Vijay brings 25 years of exemplary experience at HDFC Life, having joined the organization as a Management Trainee in June 2001. Prior to his elevation, he served as Group Head – Key Alliances (Bancassurance), where he played a key role in strengthening the company’s strategic banking partnerships and expanding its distribution ecosystem.
Over the course of his tenure, he has held leadership roles across several business verticals including Group Sales, Retail Strategy, and the High Net Worth Individual (HNI) segment, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and market reach.
Beyond business leadership, Vaidyanathan has actively championed internal people initiatives at HDFC Life. He previously headed the Employee Wellness & Well-being resource group and served as a member of the Talent Council, reinforcing the organization’s people-centric culture.
He holds a Postgraduate degree in Business Management from University of Mumbai and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Madras.
