Visionary Leader Ujjwal Ratan Appointed as Chief AI Officer, Optum Insight at Optum

Ujjwal Ratan has been appointed Chief AI Officer, Optum Insight at Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, bringing extensive experience across artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science and healthcare technology.

Before joining Optum, Ujjwal built a significant career at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he held leadership and technical roles including Head of ML and Data Science for Healthcare and Life Sciences, Principal AI/Machine Learning Solutions Architect, Senior AI/Machine Learning Solutions Architect and Solutions Architect.

Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Architect, Health Sciences Division at TechDemocracy LLC, Technical Architect at HCLTech, and held engineering roles at Oracle Corporation.

With experience spanning healthcare analytics, data architecture, data warehousing, machine learning and responsible AI, Ujjwal brings a broad technology perspective to his new leadership role. His appointment comes as healthcare organisations increasingly explore AI to improve data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency and digital healthcare solutions.
