UltraTech Cement has announced changes to its board, with Managing Director Kailash Chandra Jhanwar set to become Non-Executive Vice Chairman, effective January 1, 2027. He will succeed K. K. Maheshwari, who will relinquish the position citing other professional engagements and personal commitments. The changes were approved by the company’s board on October 19, 2026.
K. C. Jhanwar has served as Managing Director of UltraTech Cement since January 2020. A Chartered Accountant, he joined the Aditya Birla Group in 1981 as a management trainee in its cement business. Over more than four decades, he has held senior leadership positions across finance, operations and general management in the cement and chemicals sectors.
His experience includes large-scale project execution, manufacturing excellence, commercial strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and post-merger integration.
The leadership transition marks a change in UltraTech Cement’s board composition as Jhanwar moves from executive management to a non-executive leadership role.
