Sudhanshu Vats, Managing Director of Pidilite Industries Ltd, has been appointed Chairman of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) at its 39th annual general meeting. The appointment coincides with ASCI completing 40 years, marking a milestone in India’s self-regulatory advertising landscape.

Vats emphasized the importance of integrity in advertising, stating, “Our role is to ensure advertising is respectful, consumer-centric, and aligned with the product promise. Self-regulation provides guidance to the industry and assurance to the public.”

A veteran with over 34 years of experience in FMCG and media, Vats has held leadership roles at EPL Limited, Viacom18 Media, Unilever, and BP India, driving business growth, brand transformation, and digital innovation. He has been instrumental in building strong organizational cultures, fostering talent, and mentoring emerging leaders.

He currently serves as Co-Chair of the CII FMCG Committee, Senior VP of Bombay Chamber of Commerce, and member of various advisory boards, including Columbia University. An inspirational leader and marathon runner, Vats continues to shape India’s advertising and corporate leadership landscape.
